TOKYO, Japan — Binibining Pilipinas Hannah Arnold failed in her bid to bring home the Miss International crown after she did not make it to the Top 8 of the competition here.

The 26-year-old forensic scientist and model from Masbate only managed a Top 15 finish during the international pageant’s 60th edition, taking place at the Tokyo Dome City Hall.

The ladies who advanced to the final round of the competition were chosen from among the Top 15 delegates, who delivered their respective speeches. Sixty-six international delegates took part in this year’s staging of the international pageant.

Here is the complete list of the Top 8 delegates:

  1. Dominican Republic
  2. Cabo Verde
  3. Germany
  4. Jamaica
  5. Colombia
  6. Spain
  7. Canada
  8. Peru

This year’s edition was held three years after the last installment of the global tilt was mounted, also in Japan. The International Cultural Association, organizer of the Miss International pageant, decided to cancel the staging in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Because of the two-year pandemic pause, 2019 Miss International Sireethorn Leearamwat now becomes the longest reigning winner in the pageant’s history. She is also the first Thai woman to clinch the title.

Leearamwat is set to finally relinquish her crown and title to her successor, who will be chosen at the culmination of the competition.

From among the global competitions currently running, the Philippines found its most success in the Miss International pageant with six winners—Gemma Cruz in 1964, Aurora Pijuan in 1970, Melanie Marquez in 1979, Precious Lara Quigaman in 2005, Bea Rose Santiago in 2013, and Kylie Verzosa in 2016.
