Barclays banking DOWN: Customers told they ‘don’t have an account’ with the bank

Barclays customers have been struggling to get into their account through mobile and online banking as some report the app saying they have no accounts. This is the third time issues like this have arisen for Barclays mobile banking app this month alone with previous outages on the 12 and 18 of October.

“I can’t see my account, it says I don’t even have one,” noted one customer, Leanna Cooper.

Reports include customers not being able to see their accounts or even log in to their mobile banking apps.

This is worrying some users as their cards, accounts and balances have also disappeared from the mobile app if they can log in.

Others have reported that while they are able to log in and everything appears as normal, they are unable to access their cards and accounts, concerning those with payments due, transfers to be made and paycheques coming in.

Barclay UK Help Twitter account said any money due to go in or out of accounts will still be transferred as normal.

Many have reported that although the mobile banking is down they have been able to use their cards for transactions such as buying bus tickets.

This outage has affected both the normal Barclays app and the Barclaycard app.

Amid these system issues, Barclays market share price has taken a steep downturn since 9am, losing more than 1.70 points in less than an hour.

DON’T MISS

Some customers have reported that these issues have stemmed from yesterday, with one person, Stacey Jones, commenting: “I can’t see my cards on the online banking app, and it won’t let me use my card to donate to the bhf online. I had issues with paying for diesel with my card yesterday too. Barclay sucks!”(sic)

Amid the outage, at 10:07 the Barclays UK Help tweeted an announcement stating online servicing and automated telephone services are continuing as normal.

“We’re looking into the problem now and we’ll update you here as soon as possible. For further updates, and to receive a text message when we’re back up and running, please check our service status page. Thanks for bearing with us.”

The service status page currently states that the app is now working, and that customers still having issues should tap home once they have logged in to see their accounts as normal.
