Aston Villa will test Norwich’s resolve for Todd Cantwell if Jack Grealish seals a Premier League-record £100million transfer to Manchester City, Express Sport understands. The England marvel is set to make a final decision on a potential move to the Etihad Stadium in the coming days upon his return from holiday in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Formal discussions between the two clubs began earlier this week before an official offer of £100m was tabled from the Premier League champions yesterday.
Villa are yet to respond but it’s understood they are expected to accept the bid in the coming days.
Dean Smith’s side have already made a statement signing in attack this summer following the acquisition of last season’s Championship Player of the Year Emiliano Buendia in a deal that could rise to £38m.
The club have also confirmed this afternoon that they have agreed a deal – believed to be worth around £30m – with Bayer Leverkusen to sign winger Leon Bailey.

Now Daniel Farke is looking to build his team around him as the Canaries target survival on their return to the Premier League.
Villa do have alternative targets in mind if Norwich dig their heels into the ground.
One of those is believed to be Burnley’s Dwight McNeil with Everton also keen on the former Manchester United academy star.
The Villains were always looking to prioritise their options in attack this summer after also losing Egyptian international Trezeguet to a serious knee injury back in April.
Smith also has Bertrand Traore and Anwar El Ghazi available at his disposal but both have struggled for consistency and Villa have ambitions to play European football.
