Are supermarkets and shops open on bank holiday Monday?

What shops can you trust to be open on Monday? (Picture: Getty)

Some of us with discipline might still have chocolate left over from the Easter bank holiday yet here we are again, ready for another one.

The early May bank holiday is nearly upon us, giving people plenty more chance to relax, binge the latest Netflix dramas like Ozark or Grace and Frankie, and hang out with friends and family.

The weather’s meant to be unsettled – this is the UK, after all – so, depending on how lucky you get, you might find yourself needing to go and buy supplies for picnics and BBQS… or you’ll need duvet day supplies.

Will the shops be open to accommodate any last minute impulses and purchases?
