Apple launches new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro: Price, features and more – Times of India
Expanding its MacBook lineup of laptops, Apple has launched the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro featuring M2 Pro and M2 Max silicon processors. Apple says that the new MacBook Pro with M2 processors is six times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro.

The new MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max are available to order today, January 17, on Apple’s online store in 27 countries and regions, including India. They will begin arriving to customers starting Tuesday, January 24.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at Rs 1,99,900 for the M2 processor and 10-core CPU variant. The 12-core CPU variant with the M2 processor starts at Rs 2,49,900. The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Max processor starts at Rs 3,09,900.
The 16-inch variant with M2 Pro processor starts at Rs 2,49,900 whereas the one with M2 Max processor starts at Rs 3,49,900.

Apple has packed in a lot of power in the new MacBook Pro models. The MacBook Pro with M2 Pro features a 10- or 12-core CPU with up to eight high-performance and four high-efficiency cores for up to 20 per cent greater performance over M1 Pro. There’s also a next-generation GPU with up to 19 cores that delivers up to 30 per cent more graphics performance, and the Neural Engine is 40 per cent faster.
M2 Max has a next-gen 12-core CPU with up to eight high-performance and four high-efficiency cores that delivers up to 20 per cent greater performance over M1 Max.
The new MacBook Pro supports Wi-Fi 6E,which is up to twice as fast as the previous generation, as well as advanced HDMI, which supports 8K displays for the first time.
The connectivity ports on the MacBook Pro, include three Thunderbolt 4 ports for high-speed connection to peripherals, an SDXC card slot, and MagSafe 3 charging.
The new MacBook Pro models feature a Liquid Retina XDR display, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera as well. There’s a six-speaker sound system, which was there in the M1 MacBook Pro as well.
Apple claims that the new MacBook Pro’s battery life — the longest ever in a Mac — can last up to 22 hours.
