Havertz is open to leaving Stamford Bridge with Chelsea ready to listen to offers as they seek to trim their bloated squad ahead of Mauricio Pochettino’s first season in charge.
Ruidger played alongside his fellow Germany international in west London for two seasons before joining Real Madrid on a free transfer last summer.
Los Blancos are looking to strengthen their attacking options following Karim Benzema’s move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad. And Rudiger would welcome the prospect of his friend Havertz joining him at the Bernabeu.
‘I would be happy to play with Havertz again at club level,’ Rudiger told AS.
‘Unfortunately, I cannot say much about it because, on the subject of transfers, my word is secondary. It’s the club’s decision.’
Havertz joined Chelsea in a deal worth £75million from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020 with the club eager to recoup a figure close to that outlay if they are to cash in on him this summer.
Havertz’s current contract at the club expires in 2024 and has so far shown no indication he wants to extend.
A number of Chelsea stars are expected to leave the club this summer with Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic in talks with Manchester United and Manchester City respectively.
Mount is thought to have agreed personal terms with United although the two sides remain some way apart in agreeing a fee. United are ready to pay £55million for the England international with Chelsea holding out for at least £70million despite the player entering the final year of his contract.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is eager to join AC Milan with N’Golo Kante expected to leave when his contract expires at the end of June to join Benzema at Al-Ittihad.
Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are also among those expected to be moved on.
