Joshua’s stardom has seen him become one of the biggest earners in boxing over recent years, and the 33 year-old is set to add to his wealth with a heavyweight fight against Jermaine Franklin on Saturday night.
But exactly how much is Joshua worth and how much will he earn from his encounter with the American at The O2 Arena this weekend?
Let’s crunch the numbers.
What is Anthony Joshua’s net worth?
Joshua has amassed an estimated career earning of £200 million, according to The Telegraph.
He walked away from his first fight against Usyk in September 2021 with a £15 million pay cheque.
The rematch in August 2022 was even more lucrative, with Joshua walking away with £32.5 million despite losing to his Ukrainian rival in Saudi Arabia.
Joshua picked up another £50 million against Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019 which saw the Brit win the rematch on an unanimous decision to reclaim the WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO titles.
Covid-19 restricted his fight with Kubrat Pulev in December 2020 to just 1,000 spectators at Wembley Arena, but Joshua nevertheless earnt £6 million for his night’s work.
Before the pandemic struck, Joshua sold out Wembley and the Principality Stadium in the six fights leading up to his Pulev showdown – each of which banked him at least £10 million.
The historic encounter with Wladimir Klitschko in 2017 earnt him around £15 million, whilst victory a year later against Joseph Parker saw him bag almost £13 million.
As well as his earnings from the boxing ring, Joshua’s income has been boosted by an array of commercial partnerships with the likes of Under Armour, Jaguar Land Rover, Hugo Boss and Beats.
The Watford-born fighter has also signed a huge multi-year deal with global streaming giants DAZN which will see his fights shown live on the broadcaster.
According to The Sun, the partnership with DAZN will see Joshua earn up to £100 million over the course of the contract.
The agreement brought to an end Joshua’s nine year association with Sky Sports as their pay-per-view star, with his fight against Franklin set to be his first bout on the streaming platform.
How much will he earn from the Jermaine Franklin fight?
According to talkSPORT, Joshua could earn roughly £10 million for this weekend’s fight with Franklin.
This is despite the fact that no world titles will be on the line – the first time that has happened for one of Joshua’s fights in seven years.
Meanwhile, Franklin reportedly looks set to walk away with approximately £800,000, but that figure could creep past £1 million when sponsorship and a potential victory are factored into the equation.
