Kang’s inspiration revealed by Jonathan Majors
Jonathan Majors, The Harder They Fall actor, will be playing the role of Kang in the upcoming Ant-Man film. This is not the first time Majors will be seen playing this role, as he was seen playing Kang during the series finale of the Loki series.
Many would not know, but Kang has the power to time travel; therefore, there are many variants of the character that exist in different timelines. The Kang we saw in Loki will be very different from the Kang we will see in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Majors revealed that the director for the film, Peyton Reed, referenced history to draw inspiration for the character. As Kang is now in his “conqueror mode”, the inspiration for the character was none other than the greatest conqueror in history, Alexander the Great.
Majors also revealed another inspiration, which was Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy. He spoke about how the films entertain as well as challenge the audience. He added that the movies hold an “impregnable truth”, and that “life and people are beautifully complicated and evolving” and that is what has allowed it to stand for these many years.
Feige explains Kang’s motivation in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Now that we know that the character is inspired by the greatest conqueror in history, fans are now inquisitive about what is his motivation in the film. Fortunately, Feige has come out to tell the fans what Kang’s motivation will be in the upcoming film.
He stated that Kang is a powerful character, but in the state he is in the film, he needs to regain his lost power. He has a ship, as well as a device, that will let him go to any place in any timeline he wants. All he needs is access to “genius scientists” and “Pym Particles”.
