Andrew Garfield: ‘My Spider-Man would hate Avengers Endgame hero’

The last moments of Avengers Endgame were massively emotional. After fighting tooth and nail against Thanos, Iron Man sacrificed himself to defeat the mad titan and erase him from existence. Despite how heroic Tony Stark was, a Spider-Man star has revealed his version of Peter Parker would not have been interested in becoming his ally.

While promoting his new Netflix film, Tick Tick Boom, Andrew Garfield imagined his version of Spidey joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

On this notion, Garfield confessed: “I definitely think Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man would be pretty suspect of MCU Iron Man.”

The current version of Spider-Man – played by Tom Holland – absolutely idolises Stark, despite his ego and eccentric ways.

But this is not something that would have translated well, Garfield explained. (Via GQ)

Garfield went on: “I think he would be a little turned off by the excess, the billionaire, trillionaire status of Iron Man.

“I think it would rub my version of Spider-Man the wrong way. But maybe there could be some influence there.”

He added: “Maybe my Peter Parker could wake Tony Stark up to his own egoic drives a little bit?”

Fans will tragically never see Garfield’s Spider-Man join forces with Iron Man following his death.

However Garfield’s web-head will likely swing onto screens once again in the upcoming movie Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Rumours surrounding the star’s arrival in the multiversal movie have been rife for months.

The latest trailer has been the biggest hint that Garfield will arrive, as his foes Electro and Lizard were featured in the movie’s large battle.

Despite these glaring clues, the British star has been adamant he will not be appearing in the movie.

In the same interview with GQ, Garfield explained: “Listen, at this point… I’m done. We’ll all out find out when the movie comes out and we’ll either be very disappointed, or we’ll be very happy.

“Or someone will say, ‘I told you so,’ and another person will say, ‘I told you so.’ We’ll all find out.”

He smirked: “I’m sorry in advance!”

Holland has been equally adamant that he is the only Spider-Man in the movie.

On if he’ll be joined by Garfield and former Spider-Man Tobey Maguire, the actor said: “Unless they have hidden the most massive piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me.

“But as of yet, no. It’ll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies that we’ve been making.”

Spider-Man No Way Home hits cinemas on December 15.
