Amanda Bynes has reportedly checked herself into a new inpatient mental health centre.

It’s said the US star, 37, entered treatment in Orange County at the beginning of July, which comes one month after she was reportedly detained by police when they responded to a call about a woman in distress.

According to TMZ, Amanda admitted herself to the new facility one week after checking out of a Los Angeles mental health facility for outpatient treatment.

Sources told the outlet that the former child wanted more of a ‘therapeutic place to live’ rather than living alone at her LA apartment.

They said she felt she needed more help than she was provided with outpatient treatment.

She’s now thought to be surrounded by a medical team, therapists, and fellow patients after being connected to the Orange County centre through her last treatment plan.

Reports have claimed she’s in residential treatment getting 24/7 care, while also taking part in daily therapy sessions and activities to help her develop skills to use when she leaves the centre.

It’s been stated that it was Amanda’s own decision to check into the facility.

Reports first surfaced in March that Amanda had been ‘placed on psychiatric hold after being found naked in the streets.’

The Easy A actress – who was freed from her nine-year conservatorship last year – reportedly flagged down a passing car at the time, informing a driver that she was coming down from a psychotic episode.

It’s said she then called 911 herself.

She was allegedly taken to a nearby police station, where she was placed on a 5150 hold.

Amanda received an outpouring of love from fellow celebrities and co-stars after the news broke.

She was also praised for seeking help herself, with fans feeling hopeful that she’d be able to feel proud of herself too.

Reps for Amanda Bynes have been contacted for comment.
