Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have named their newborn daughter Raha. On Thursday evening, the actress shared an announcement along with a first glimpse of the baby.

Alia Bhatt took to her social media handle to share a family photo. In it, she can be seen out of focus along with her actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor as they cradle their daughter. In the backdrop, a jersey with “Raha” printed on it can be seen. Alia captioned the post, “The name Raha (chosen by her wise and wonderful Dadi) has so many beautiful meanings…Raha, in its purest form means divine path/ in Swahili she is Joy/ In Sanskrit, Raha is a clan/ In Bangla – rest, comfort, relief/ in Arabic peace, it also means happiness, freedom & bliss. And true to her name, from the first moment we held her – we felt it ALL! Thank you Raha, for bringing our family to life, it feels as though our lives have only just begun.”

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor welcomed their first child Raha earlier this month. The two announced the news in a post that read, “And in the best news of our lives:- Our baby is here…and what a magical girl she is. On the work front, Alia Bhatt who was last seen in Brahmastra alongside Ranbir Kapoor will soon make her Hollywood debut with Heart of Stone starring Gal Gadot. She is also set to star in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh.
