Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition Gets New DLC With Dawn of the Dukes

Microsoft has announced the arrival of a new expansion, Dawn of The Dukes, to Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, now available on the Microsoft store and Steam.

The new expansion follows in the heels of last December’s Lords of the West expansion, which introduced Burgundians and Sicilians. Dawn of The Dukes adds the Poles and the Bohemians, along with 3 new campaigns.

Age of Empires 2 Adds 3 New Campaigns With Dawn of The Dukes

Dawn of The Dukes’ three new campaigns are:

• Algirdas and Kestutis: Facing the impending invasion by the Teutonic Knights, this campaign sees Lithuania is on the brink of catastrophe, with Prince Algirdas and his loyal brother, Kestutis battling the grandsons of Genghis Khan.
• Jadwiga: The campaign will focus on child queen Jadwiga of Poland, also known as the star of the Poles.
• Jan Zizka: Following the titular mercenary, the campaign will see players take the role of the Bohemians.

The new civilisations, Poles and Bohemians, also have their own unique advantages against each other.

The Poles are a cavalry civilisation, with a unique unit being the Obuch, a brutal infantryman with a war hammer, and their regional unit is with the Lithuanians. The Poles have a unique building, the Folwark, which replaces the Mill and increases the efficiency of nearby Farms, along with 2 unique technologies: Szlachta Privileges and Lechitic Legacy.

The Bohemians, on the other hand, are a gunpowder and monk civilisation. The first Bohemian unique unit is the Hussite Wagon, a deadly forerunner of the modern tank. The second Bohemian unique unit is the Houfnice, a powerful upgrade to the Bombard Cannon. The Bohemians have two unique technologies: Wagenburg Tactics and Hussite Reforms.

Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition is out now on PC via the Microsoft store and Steam for Rs. 529, along with being available on Xbox Game Pass for PC.
