Aaron Taylor-Johnson reportedly has a high chance of becoming the next James Bond after his meeting with the 007 producer Barbara Broccoli “went well.”

Taylor-Johnson, known for his portrayal in “Kick-Ass” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” emerged as the frontrunner among candidates for the role, an anonymous source disclosed to Puck News on Monday, Jan. 2. In that Avengers movie, he played the role of Pietro Maximoff, brother of Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen.

Last November, another insider told The Sun that “Aaron went for a screen test to be the next Bond in September, and producers and Barbara loved him.”

“He is now one of the front-runners. Aaron has impressed bosses so much that he has filmed one of the franchise’s famous gun barrel teaser scenes, something all the actors do,” the insider was quoted as saying.

While casting of Taylor-Johnson as the iconic spy has been making buzz on social media, no official announcement has been made as of this writing.

Daniel Craig was the most recent actor to portray the 007 role. He brought to life the British secret agent in “Casino Royale” (2006), “Quantum of Solace” (2008), “Skyfall” (2012), “Spectre” (2015), and his final film in the franchise “No Time to Die” (2021). EDV
