Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello ripped for anti-Nazi post

He sparked serious Rage with this tweet.

Rage Against The Machine rocker Tom Morello, 59, is getting blasted on Twitter for sharing an anti-Nazi quote, with fans accusing him of fascism and intolerance.

Morello, who has played guitar with the rock band for more than three decades, posted the quote to his Twitter page Wednesday.

“German saying: If 9 people sit down at a table with 1 Nazi without protest, there are 10 Nazis at the table,” the post read.

While the quote was unattributed, it clearly claims those who politely engage with people who demonstrate hateful behavior are complicit in their bad acts.

Dozens of followers flooded the reply section of Morello’s tweet, accusing him of advancing the hate he wished to quell.

“While that sounds principled, it isn’t,” one Twitter user wrote. “It’s a mechanism to stop conversation. 9 people can sit down at a table with 1 Nazi and talk and educate said single Nazi on the issues and the truth with evidence and convert that Nazi. It’s called diplomacy.”

“So do you think it’s impossible to politely converse with someone to change their mind?” another asked.

Others asked Morello to explain his definition of the word “Nazi,” claiming it had been co-opted to describe anybody with opposing political views.

“Do you consider Trump supporters to be Nazis?” one critic queried.

Another stated that the word “Nazi” has been used to describe the left and the right during the COVID-19 pandemic, before accusing Morello of Naziism for supporting vaccine mandates.

“Tom Morello over here pretending he didn’t sell out his entire ‘rebel; persona the last three years by complying with government demands and keeping his mouth shut on Covid tyranny. Got news for you Tom, you’re the Nazi,” they raged.

Meanwhile, conservative commentator Tim Pool argued that the quote shows that Morello has fascist tendencies of his own.

“Wow, I didnt expect Tom Morello to come out as a fascist. Kinda sucks,” Pool tweeted.

However, the journalist was immediately trolled for that tweet, with several supporters of Morello blasting back.

“All the fascists getting pissed at Tom Morello for correctly pointing them out as fascists lol,” a fan clapped back.

Rage Against The Machine have long been known for their revolutionary socialist political views, with Harvard grad Morello frequently speaking out against socio-political injustices.

However, some have accused the star — whose band’s most famous song, “Killing In The Name,” includes the line “F–k you, I won’t do what you tell me” — of not being countercultural at all, and instead parroting standard Democrat talking points.

Morello had not responded to the social media controversy as of Thursday.

He has continued posting political tweets, including a meme with a rainbow flag in support of Pride Month.
