Aaron Carter’s fiancée believes he was murdered: ‘It doesn’t add up’

Aaron Carter’s fiancée Melanie Martin is raising questions about his untimely death and final moments — just days after his mother doubled down on claims her son may have been murdered.

“Many factors discussed with the police and coroner do not add up to [a] simple overdose,” the child star’s fiancée told The Sun.

“I want to know what really happened so I can focus on raising our son Prince without constantly losing sleep on what happened to his father every night.”

Carter was found dead in the bathtub of his California home on Nov. 5.

The 34-year-old troubled singer’s official cause of death has yet to be determined, but his body was reportedly discovered alongside multiple cans of compressed air and prescription pill bottles with no water in his lungs.

His fiancée and mother, Jane Carter, have spoken out to say that the family believes his death was caused by an overdose after a drug deal gone wrong.

His mother recently called for “a real investigation…because the coroner wrote it off as an accidental drug overdose,” although she claims the family believes it may have been a “potential homicide.”

Martin claimed that Carter’s phone was not used in the 24 hours before he died and later found in his car although he was “was inseparable from his iPhone,” she told The Sun.

“I never saw Aaron leave his phone unattended, especially well away from where he was found,” she said adamantly.

Martin also noted that her fiancé “rarely used the tub” and insists that he would “always lock the door for privacy” although the bathroom was left unlocked when his body was found.

She also pointed to their dog’s confusing behavior.

“With how long [Aaron] supposedly was in there with our dog Zelda, it doesn’t add up how our dog didn’t use the restroom there,” she said. She also wonders “how Zelda, a trained service dog didn’t damage a thing while Aaron was in there.”

Martin claims that details about his phone usage, their dog's behavior and the days leading up to Carter's death are suspicious.

“Nothing of the last few days of his life added up to a normal pattern,” she claimed.

She explained that she had grown increasingly worried about Carter’s behavior and asked the housekeeper to keep an eye on him and send updates. Martin then called for a welfare check on Carter several days before his death, which led to police pulling him over and conducting a field sobriety test.

Carter was deemed “OK to drive” but “embarrassed” by the situation and media attention, Martin explained. The couple then “decided to take a break from each other for a couple of days” as Martin took their son to stay at her mother’s house for some time, despite her growing concerns for Carter’s wellbeing.

She admitted being “super worried that Aaron would relapse again, since he had a couple of times in recent months.” Martin noted that Carer seemed to be making attempts to stay on the right path and “signed up for outpatient rehab, and scheduled an appointment for Friday, November 4.”

However, his body was found the next day. It is unclear whether or not Carter attended his appointment.

“I had sent our housekeeper several text messages showing concern for his wellbeing with no response from her,” Martin claimed.

“No one notified me that Aaron had left his home for Walmart that evening despite my asking of just that.”

She also noted that “it was unusual he would [do that] because of his anxiety. He’d usually ask someone else to go places for him.”

The last update that Martin received on Carter was a message from the housekeeper’s friend, who told her that he was “eating snacks.”

“It was odd to me that the friend was answering instead of our housekeeper,” she said.

“Hopefully one day soon we’ll have an answer [as to what happened to Carter] instead of telling Prince years from now ‘I wish we knew.’”

Just last week, Jane Carter shared five graphic images of her son’s death scene in hopes the shocking images would push law enforcement to further investigate what she believes was a “potential homicide.”

The police “never investigated it as a possible crime scene because of his addiction past,” she claimed of the star who had long struggled with addiction and mental health issues.

“Aaron had a lot of death threats and many many people who were making his life miserable,” she wrote on social media.

“A proper investigation was not done.”
