Rajamouli has made him a favourite to win the Oscar for an all-Indian film.His three-hour performance gala RRR is a fictionalised account of two colonial-era revolutionaries that features elaborate combat scenes with lots of special effects and catchy musical pieces. It has dominated Indian box offices and dazzled audiences from America to Japan. Naatu Naatu, a song from the movie, won best original song, besting artists like Taylor Swift and Rihanna at the Golden Globes. RRR has become one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever after becoming a word-of-mouth sensation that had viewers dancing in the theatre aisles. Also, it has made the nation’s thriving southern cinema sector recognised to a global audience.
The makers of RRR have chosen to re-release the movie, which will once again be available in US theatres. RRR is vying for the Best Original Song award at the forthcoming Oscars. The SS Rajamouli-directed film will debut in roughly 200 theatres nationwide. RRR’s US distributor, Variance Films, tweeted the information along with a brand-new trailer.
